The property passport: its whole history, with proof

Leases, check-in reports, technical reports, invoices, works: OSCAR gathers the history of each home and shows, for every document, whether it is anchored on the Bitcoin blockchain. A PDF or a folder to send in one click to the notary, the insurer or the new manager, verifiable without OSCAR.

Create my property passport

The account workspace is in French.

What the passport contains

Leases and check-in reports

Start and end of each lease, move-in and move-out reports.

Technical reports

Energy certificate and the other reports on the home that you have stored.

Works and repairs

Call-outs, building works, quotes, issues tracked and resolved.

Equipment and warranties

Boiler, appliances… installation date and end of warranty.

Invoices and paperwork

Every document with its digital fingerprint and its proof.

Insurance

The landlord's insurance and its renewal dates.

Real proof for every document

Each document has a unique digital fingerprint, timestamped on the Bitcoin blockchain, the most recognised and most secure in the world. The passport shows its real status, never a decorative badge.

Anchored on the Bitcoin blockchain

The document existed in this exact form no later than the date of the block, shown with its number.

Anchoring pending

The fingerprint has been sent; the Bitcoin confirmation usually arrives within a few hours, automatically.

Fingerprint recorded

The file's fingerprint is known: any later change shows.

Pass it on in 4 steps

1

Open the property page

In OSCAR, the “Passeport du logement” (property passport) block gathers everything, newest first.

2

Check the proofs

Each document shows the real status of its proof, calculated from the blockchain.

3

Download

A PDF, or a complete folder with the fingerprints and the blockchain proofs.

4

Send it

To the notary, the insurer, the new manager: without giving them access to your account.

To sell, insure or hand over your home

When you sell, the notary and the buyer ask for the technical reports, the invoices for works and the warranties. After water damage, the insurer wants to know when the boiler was replaced. When you hand management over to an agency, it needs the whole history. With the passport, everything is already gathered, dated and verifiable: no more digging through emails and binders.

Verifiable by anyone, without OSCAR

The folder contains the list of documents with their digital fingerprint, and the blockchain proof of each anchored document. Anyone can recalculate a file's fingerprint and compare it, then open its proof with a standard blockchain verification tool, or on the verification page. A guide (in French) explains each step.

Only the property is shared

The passport you send contains only this property: not your other properties, not the payments, not the tenant's name, not the documents in their file. The files themselves (PDFs, photos) are only added if you choose to. And on the blockchain there are only ever fingerprints, never a document or any personal data.

What it proves, and what it does not

An anchored document existed in this exact form no later than the date of the Bitcoin block, and has not been changed since. Anchoring says nothing about the legal validity of the document or the accuracy of its content, and the dates in the timeline are the ones entered in OSCAR. More on blockchain timestamping of documents.

Frequently asked questions

What is the property passport?

It is the complete history of a home, gathered on its OSCAR page: leases, check-in reports, technical reports, invoices, works, equipment, warranties and insurance. Each document appears with its digital fingerprint and the status of its proof on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Who can I send it to?

To a notary when selling, to an insurer after a claim, to a new manager or to a letting agency. You download a PDF or a ZIP folder and send it: the recipient does not need an OSCAR account and never gets access to yours.

What does the ZIP folder contain?

The passport PDF, the list of all documents with their digital fingerprint (as JSON and as a spreadsheet), the blockchain proof of each anchored document, and a guide to check everything without OSCAR. You can also add the files themselves (PDFs, photos): their total size is shown before the export starts.

How can I check that a document has not been changed?

Calculate the file's SHA-256 fingerprint (a tool built into every computer does it) and compare it with the one in the passport: if they match, the file has not changed by a single byte. For an anchored document, its proof opens with a standard blockchain verification tool, or on OSCAR's verification page, which shows the Bitcoin block and its date.

What exactly does blockchain anchoring prove?

That a document existed in this exact form no later than the date of the Bitcoin block, and that it has not been changed since. It says nothing about the legal validity of the document or the accuracy of its content. The dates of the events in the timeline are the ones entered in OSCAR: the passport presents them as such, without calling them certified.

Is my personal data on the blockchain?

No. Only a digital fingerprint goes on the blockchain: a string of numbers and letters from which the document cannot be recovered. And the exported passport contains only the property: no payments, no tenant's name, no documents from the tenant's file (payslips, tax notices…).

How much does it cost?

The passport is included in OSCAR at no extra cost: the first property is free for one year, then the subscription is €5 per month per property. Timestamping on the Bitcoin blockchain, the most recognised and most secure in the world, is automatic and free.
